Account Setup Process

To open an account, you will be required to complete and sign our application form and Terms of Business and submit to Merrion along with valid AML documentation*

For other account types, such as pension and corporate, additional documentation will be required in order to open an account; a comprehensive check list for each account type can be found in our FAQ section.

*In line with the Criminal Justice Act 2013, documentary evidence establishing identity and current permanent address must be furnished for all named applicants. Sight of an original or certified copy of:

  • current valid passport/driving licence (with clear photograph of holder) and
  • two recent household bills such as telephone, electricity or gas (no more than six months old)


Where copy documentation is supplied a solicitor, an accountant, a Garda or a banker must certify such copies as true copies of the original.
